KDC Soccer School

KDC Soccer School:

Over the school holidays, the KDC Soccer School was given the privilege of traveling to the Spanish capital Madrid to participate in the International Players Cup, which was a tournament for boys born in 2003 and 2004 against quality Spanish opposition.

Our boys had the tough task of facing mighty Ateltico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and an African Australian Elite squad, and our young squad was comfortably beaten by our Spanish opponents, and lost in tight games to the African Australian squad and to Avondale Heights SC in the 11th vs 12th match.

It was an incredible, eye-opening experience for us as coaches and our players as to the standard of football in Europe, and the boys learnt so much from the experience. The icing on the cake was two days of training at the magnificent Real Madrid Academy, which was worth the 24 hour flight alone. The boys watched a live match featuring Real Madrid and Getafe, toured the famous Santiago Bernabeu stadium, did workshops with Real Madrid Foundation coaches and had exclusive access to watch an under 17 Real Madrid Academy session live.

We hope to extend our students in the future with similar trips so that they can learn through practical experience.

We were extremely proud of our boys, as they displayed discipline, professionalism and the KDC 3 at all times from our departure to our arrival back home.
