Maths Olympiad

Our first set of Maths Olympiad students have completed their fifth and final Olympiad! The students have demonstrated a positive attitude towards both the preparation sessions and the actual tests. They have embraced the challenging questions and have demonstrated a high level of persistence throughout this initiative.

The Maths Olympiad experience is best summed up by quotes from some of our participants:

- Owen: ‘I love the Olympiad because of the friendly atmosphere and the encouraging passion of our teacher Cameron and I think any up and coming Grade 4 students should do the Olympiad for a challenge.’

- Aryna: ‘It was harder than I expected but I think that I’ve improved greatly.’

- Charisse: ‘It’s enjoyable because it’s challenging.’

- Angus: ‘It was challenging but now I have strategies to help me with other problems in the future.’

- Phil: ‘It’s a unique type of maths, with a lot of new strategies to learn.’

- Oliver: ‘Never think there’s only one way to work a question out.’

Science Week

Last week, AGPS held a special science week. The JSC organised a 'Super Science Quiz' which tested the science knowledge of all of our students. We also had science lessons held in our mixed class mentor groups. These lessons were led beautifully by our student leaders and it was wonderful to see students from all year levels coming together with some really engaging activities.

Prep T were lucky to have Michael's dad visit their classroom. He conducted a range of exciting experiments that thrilled the students. Here are a few photos:
