Year 10 Graduation Ceremony

C. Grimmer

Last Friday we celebrated our Year 10 students’ graduation from Merbein P-10 College with a special breakfast before school, a whole school assembly and then finally a graduation ceremony at Club Da Vinci on Friday evening. It was a fantastic celebration and the culmination of a lot of hard work from students, parents and staff. I would like to acknowledge and thank all staff who gave up their time to organise the graduation ceremony, prepare students for the night and assist with the breakfast and whole school assembly. Most of all I would like to thank staff for their care, patience and support for Year 10 across many years. We have a great school with wonderful students, supportive parents and great staff, which is something we can all be proud of.

Year 10’s Final Day

R.Morgan

Last Friday at the Whole School Assembly the school celebrated the Year 10’s final day at Merbein P-10 College. It was great to look back and reflect on the time, of this wonderful group of young people, that started as 84 students in Year 7 and finished with 105 in Year 10.

Their day of celebration finished at Club Da Vinci where they received their Year 10 Graduation Certificate and then show cased some impressive dance moves after several weeks of practicing in their PE classes.

On behalf of the teachers and support staff past and present . We wish the departing year 10’s  well in their future pathways.

Hot Weather next Week

R. Morgan

Due to the forecast extremely hot weather, the excursion to Lake Cullulleraine next Thursday, 12th December has been cancelled.  The school is currently planning an alternate activity that will be more suitable to the conditions and ensures the safety of students and staff. This will be communicated to the school community when details are finalized.

A reminder that students are to come in full school uniform Monday and Tuesday, after which students are able to wear casual clothing that is suitable and safe (fully closed shoes, shoulders covered and no offensive slogan/logos).

Year 7 Orientation

R. Carmes

Over the past two days, we have had 140 year 6 students complete their orientation in readiness for 2020. Students completed activities in Art, Maths, English, Humanities, Science, PE and the Technology areas. All students need to be commended on their enthusiasm. A special thank you to the current year 7 students who were guides and assisted the grade 6’s.
