Year 6 and Prep Graduation Assembly

Our Year 6 and Prep Graduation Assembly will be held in the college gym on Friday 13th December starting at 9.30 am.  All students should wear their school uniform.  Year 6 parents should have already received an invitation to the assembly and their special morning tea.  Prep parents should receive their invitations this week to attend the assembly.  All parents are invited to attend the assembly.   Our annual Awards and Bursaries will be announced at our college Awards Night the following Monday 16th December.  Recipients and their families will be officially invited.

End of Year

Primary

On Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th December the normal school program will operate for students and they are expected to attend in full school uniform . Class parties will be on Wednesday 18th December and the Pool Day is Thursday 19th December. Students are able to come in appropriate casual clothing for these two days. Friday 20th December is the last day of the year and  students that come to school will assist staff with cleaning up.

Canteen

Primary students will not be able to purchase lunch from the canteen on Wednesday 18th December (class party) or Friday 20th December (Early dismissal) but will be able to on Thursday 19th December for the last time in 2019.

Pool Party

Because of the extreme heat next week, we have changed the time for the pool party at the Merbein pool on Thursday.  After the roll has been marked, students will catch a bus to the pool and return at approximately 11.30.  A decision about the return time will be made based on the temperature at the time.  Please ensure your child has had sunscreen applied before school.  It will be re-applied again at the pool.  Students will need to bring water, hat, bathers, towel and sunscreen. Lunch will now be at school so the canteen will be available for the last time in 2019.

Your child will have received a permission note already and all permission notes will need to be returned by Wednesday so that we can organise bus numbers.  Students without permission notes will remain at school. We are not able to accept text messages for permission.  Please sign and return ASAP.  Please refer to the original note for all that your child requires on the day.

Toys 4 Kids

Gold coin donation to play - Primary

The Junior SRC have one final activity for the year.

Students are asked to bring a gold coin donation so that they can bring a toy or game (can be electronic) to school to play with on Tuesday afternoon next week.  Students are not to take their toys outside.

The money raised will go to the Royal Children’s Hospital Neuro Rehab Department to buy specific toys for the children to do certain exercises that will re-train their brain.  Patients make remarkable recoveries despite having serious brain injuries.

Head Lice

There has been a reported outbreak of head lice in the Year 2 & 3 Learning Centre.  Parents are asked to check their child’s hair and

treat if necessary.  Please keep in mind that treatment will need to be repeated several times to completely eradicate from hair.  Parents of all

year levels should regularly check their child’s hair to prevent further outbreaks.’
