Drop off and Pick Up
Parents/guardians, please note that we request that all parents/guardians and students from Pre-primary to Year 6 who arrive at school before 8:30am wait in the undercover area rather than outside classrooms until handbell rings. This is to ensure students are safe and staff are free to prepare for the day. The administration is on duty in the Undercover Area from 8:15 am to supervise students without an adult. Kindergarten students go directly to the Kindergarten area on arrival at school with their parent.
At the end of the day, students are asked to leave the site promptly if walking or riding their bike. Please note there is no supervision of students after school. To ensure your child’s safety please pick your children up in a timely manner, notifying the school if you are unexpectedly detained. Please note all Kindergarten and Pre-primary students must be picked up from the classroom by a parent or another designated adult. Parents/guardians must inform class teachers if they are requesting someone else to pick up their child from Kindergarten and Pre-primary. If a child has not been picked up by 3:15pm they will be taken to Reception and their parent/guardian will be telephoned. Parents/guardians and students are requested to vacate the school grounds by 3:30pm as Reception closes at 3:30 pm.
Please note Willetton Senior High School (WSHS) students are asked to wait on the grassed area on Pinetree Gully Road or around our school library until the siren rings at 3:00pm.
OSHClub
As you are aware Burrendah OSHClub has commenced in Term 2. This will mean change to some areas around the school that were previously accessible either before or after school. Burrendah OSHClub now has a Deed of License with Burrendah Primary School. This means they have exclusive use of areas of the school at registered times just as our other community groups with Deeds of License have.
In the morning the following areas will be used by OSHClub each school day:
- Basketball court outside Room 27
- Junior Playground near Room 25
- Four Square paved area outside Room 24 and 25
- The wet area outside Rooms 21, 22, 23.
- Magpie Block Resource Room
In the afternoon the following areas will be used by OSHClub each school day:
- Undercover Area
- Basketball court outside Room 27
- Junior Playground near Room 25
- Four Square paved area outside Room 24 and 25
- Wet area outside Rooms 21, 22, 23.
- Magpie Block Resource Room
Students, parents and staff access to Rooms 21, 22 and 23 will be through the classroom doors. The wet area is no longer an entrance to these classrooms before or after school.
The Undercover area needs to be vacated as soon as possible following the 3:00pm siren in the afternoon.
The junior playground and paved areas outside Rooms 24 and 25 cannot be used before or after school.

Absences from School
A written explanation is required under the School Education Act for each and every absence from school. Notes are kept on file by classroom teachers for perusal by District Attendance Officers. Parents/guardians may phone the school on 9266 6200, email the school at burrendah.ps@education.wa.edu.au or text the school on 0417 975 162 to inform the school of any absences. Please note: notification of absences for holiday reasons must be addressed to the Principal. These absences will not be approved leave as it is very important for children to attend school regularly.
Please note a child who has a 90% attendance rate and misses school 5 days each term will complete their 12 years of schooling having missed over a year of school.
