Year 1/2–Celebrating Learning

1/2 Mainstream

The 1/2 Mainstream classes have really settled into their new upstairs classrooms. During the first two weeks of  term we ran Deadly Days and focused on one of our school values each day. We learned about class routines and developing class expectations. All classes have made indigenous animal totem pictures to help children feel connected to Country and their new class.

1/2A Bulen Bulen (lyrebird)

1S Gugums - the wise owls

Class 1 Steiner have settled comfortably into their new classroom and learning environment. We have started the year with our “Whooo am I?” bags, honing in on our class totem of the wise old owl imparting knowledge about ourselves with the rest of the class. During the first two weeks of Term, the focus has been on learning about our TPS values and developing a set of class routines and expectations. We share in the moral values and teachings of many a dreamtime story, and we encourage you to talk about these with your child. Ask them about how the birds in the bush learned to live together in harmony!

Warmly,

1S Gugums

2S Dandans - The Parrots

Class 2 started the year off with the Deadly Days Main Lesson, connecting our school values to stories from all around the world. Our focus through the first few weeks of Class 2 were on developing and extending our knowledge of what a Deadly learner is as well as working together as a community. We are now two weeks into our Celtic Tales and Legends Main Lesson, learning many Irish fairy tales, the stories of Fionn mac Cumhaill and the creation myth of Ireland, The World Shapers. - 2S Dandans
