Election Day - thank you!

A HUGE thank you to the parents and staff listed below who baked some goodies for our cake stall, or gave their time to run the BBQ and cake stall, on Saturday 26th November.  We enjoyed beautiful sunny weather, a very steady line of customers, a day of lovely community connections … and raised around $3,000 for the school!

Thank you too to those of you who came along and supported us - we hope you enjoyed your delicious purchase, be it savoury or sweet.

Final days to order December Delights - Cherries and Tarts!

Orders close in Qkr tomorrow (Weds 7th December) for delicious cherries and tarts, which will be delivered next week.  Remember to ask family and friends if they would like you to order some for them too.  Thank you for your support.

Cherries

We have partnered with Victorian cherry producer Bonfire Station to bring delicious December cherries from the Cathedral Ranges to Carnegie!

There are two options available:

  • 2kg clamshell punnet of A grade cherries
  • 2kg gift box of premium hand selected cherries

Both options will contain large, fresh and super tasty fruit!

Cherries will be available for collection from school on Thursday 15th December.

Tarts

Carnegie Bakers Delight is generously assisting the PFA again in our fundraising efforts.

They will donate $2.00 per 6 pack of Lemon Tarts or Fruit Mince Tarts purchased by CPS families in this special fundraising offer.

Tarts will be available for collection from school on Thursday 15th December.

End of Year Picnic - 14th December

All CPS families and staff are invited to celebrate the end of the school year at our much loved school picnic

When: Wednesday 14th December

Time: 4:30 - 7pm

Where: Koornang Park

What: BYO picnic blankets, chairs and food, and enjoy an informal end of year celebration with other school families.

Some important things to note:

  • Children must be accompanied to the picnic by a parent, there will be no staff supervision.  And please leave pets at home.

Sushi discount offer reminder

Thank you for your support of PFA sushi days this year.  They will be back in 2023.

Thanks also to local Carnegie business owner Ming, from the Carnegie Central (Koornang Rd) Woolworths Sushi section.

Remember - visit Chef Ming on weekdays during term 4 (only 2 weeks left!) and show the newsletter or Qkr! app to let him know you are a CPS family (or staff member) to enjoy $5 chicken, tuna and vegetarian twin pack handrolls, as well as 20% discounts on all ten piece medium rolls.

Christmas Trees

In the past CPS have also run a Christmas tree order service.  This year we are encouraging families to seek out opportunities to purchase their tree directly through a local club / charity / service.  Here are a few we know of - please let us know if there are others that can be shared with the community.

Reflecting and Planning Ahead

What a fantastic year we've had!  We hit the ground running in Term 1 with a Fiesta that was organised within 6-8 weeks, we introduced some new fundraising activities and helped support the school and students by purchasing or partially funding much needed equipment such as shade sails, A/V equipment and learning materials for various grades as well as helping to beautify the school with gorgeous murals and art work.

Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated their time volunteering in a range of ways - to hand out icy poles, eggs, fruits, baking, running stalls and many other things this past year.  Thank you to those of you who have supported the PFA’s many and varied activities as a (hopefully satisfied!) customer.

On a sad note, we will be saying goodbye to some core members of the PFA who have given generously of their time, advice and expertise over more than a decade - Karen Philips and Sandra Rowlands - as their youngest children finish grade 6.  Thank you Karen and Sandra for all you have done in so many ways!

We are already looking ahead to 2023 - please see our planned meeting dates below.  Meetings take place at 7:30pm in the staff room, and all parents are very welcome to come along.  We would love to see you there!
