Naomi Gipey - next Australian Idol?

Naomi Gipey, a former student of St Philip’s College, will soon be seen on our televisions going head to head with other talented singers from around Australia in the next season of Australian Idol. 

Naomi took advantage of the activities provided by the College’s Performing Arts department, undertaking singing lessons with Mrs Kidd through the Music Tuition programme and joining in the school musical on a number of occasions as a singer and dancer. Through these activities, as well as senior drama and music classes, the College provides a fantastic training ground for any student who aspires to be a professional performer.  

Mrs Kidd remembers Naomi, “She had a fantastic young voice in her teens, although she was quite shy to share it with others, which is normal for teenagers. It's great to see that she has found her confidence and I wish her all the best in this amazing opportunity. Can’t wait to watch it and cheer on Naomi’s progress.”
