GRADE 6, 2022 LEGACY PIECE
I would like to share some photos of our latest art installation…the 2022 Grade 6 legacy pieces. Each year, our leaving Grade 6 students work on a project that enables them to “leave their mark” in our school – as a form of legacy.
In 2022, the students had studied a unit on Street Art and gathered further inspiration from artist Vexx before designing and painting their own timber paling. These palings have now been installed to form part of the fence/border of our recently constructed Gaga pit. I am so proud of their work and the fact that we have now added an element of fun and colour to our playground for all to enjoy!
2023 ART LEADERS
It is my pleasure to introduce you to our four new student Art Leaders for this year.
They are:
I am looking forward to working alongside these students who I trust will continue to show enthusiasm and a willingness to apply themselves to the Visual Arts role throughout the course of the year.
Congratulations team!
Knox Council BUNTING
Every year Knox City Council presents the Knox Festival, a free community festival where visitors will find fun for all ages and abilities. The event returns again in 2023 on Saturday 4 March and will celebrate community life.
As part of the Festival, Knox City Council invites local Primary School Students to participate in an exciting new art project. This year, the project involves the decoration of festival bunting which is then installed onsite at the Knox Festival for attendees to enjoy.
This year’s art project is based on the theme of ‘Dreams.’
- What do your dreams look like?
- What are your dreams for Knox?
- What magical places do you visit in your dreams?
I am pleased to announce that our school is participating in the project and our art leaders are currently working on the design. Stay tuned for more photos as this project progresses.
