Top Dance

Recently, the VCE Dance class had the opportunity to attend Top Dance, a showcase of A+ Dance solos that is presented as part of the 2022 VCE Season of Excellence. 

The students were inspired by the range of creativity and skills they saw in the dancers, and, despite feeling a bit intimidated by level of excellence, they were able to begin the exciting task of considering how they will choreograph their own dance solos. 

We attended one performance in the morning, then had lunch at Southgate by the Yarra, where we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. Here, we were able to discuss and reflect on what we had seen, and the students were able to articulate what they needed to work on in their own dance practice to prepare for the final examination of their solos at the end of Year 12. Finally, we saw a second performance in the afternoon before travelling home.

It was a wonderful day, and the students represented the Reservoir community superbly.
