Student Leadership

Our Year 12 student leaders
Our Year 12 student leaders

Servant leadership is at the core of who we are as a School. It is something that has characterised our school for the last 104 years. As such, it was beautiful to witness our 2023 Captains and Leaders officially take office today in the Whole School Leadership Induction. It is important for the school to come together and acknowledge the significant part these leaders play in the life of the school. The students made a public declaration of how they will lead and conduct themselves in their respective roles.

The entire school community was challenged by the Chairman of the Board, Rev. Ian Millican to lead with both love and power. Ian referred to Martin Luther King’s thoughts that power without love is reckless and love without power is simply sentimental. At Calrossy, we ultimately look to the example of Jesus, who showed immense love by humbling himself to die on the cross, even though he was God in the flesh. We hope that all our students and staff, and remarkably our newly appointed leaders would follow in the footsteps of Jesus and be willing to serve those in their care humbly.

There are several leadership opportunities coming up for our students, including:

  • Swimming carnival Tuesday - Week 3 (14th February).
  • Whole school Colour Run - Week 5 (2nd March).
  • Cross Country - Week 9 (30th March).

Also, we are seeking to get all parents to check The Hub – Secondary Notices page for up-to-date information on what is happening in secondary school life.

YONDR – We are continuing to roll out the supporting infrastructure across the school. Once this is completed the roll out of pouches to students will begin.

We hope our community has had a fantastic start to the year.
