2023 Junior School Swimming Carnival & Trials
Swimming Trials

Swimming Carnival
Parents will be emailed the information note for Swimming.
The Junior School Swimming Carnival takes place on Friday, February 17th February, 2023 at Scully Park Pool (Kent Street, South Tamworth). Please note this is a different location to last years carnival.
On the day of the Swimming Carnival students travel to school as normal and will be bused to the Carnival, departing School at 9:00am. Events begin at 9:30am and conclude at 2:00pm. Students will return to school in time for afternoons buses.
Students in the 200m Individual Medley races need to make their own way to the pool and must be at the pool at 8:30am for an 8:45am start.
Event Nomination
Students in Years 2-6 should nominate for their chosen events prior to the carnival via the Hub survey (link in Daily Notices). Trials will be conducted on Thursday 9th February (see separate note for details). No late entries will be accepted.
2023 Secondary Swimming Carnivals
The Secondary Swimming Carnivals will take place on Tuesday February 14th February, 2023. The Girls Carnival takes place at Tamworth City Pool (Kable Avenue, Bridge St), and the Boys Carnival takes place at Scully Park Pool (Kent Street, South Tamworth).
Start time and Finish
The carnival will start at 9:00am. (Students who have nominated for the Individual Medley events will need to arrive for those events beginning at 8:15am). The carnival finish time is approximately 2:30pm. Students will have their names marked off and be dismissed from the pool.
Travel
Students will travel via private transport to and from the carnival. Limited transport from the William Cowper Campus and Brisbane Street Campus is available for students unable to make their way to the carnival. Boarders will be transported by bus to their respective carnivals.
Event Nomination
Students will nominate for their events via survey found on Secondary notices of the The Hub
Junior and Secondary Basketball
Basketball Registrations are open for both Junior School (Years 3&4, and Years 5&6) and High School Teams - and teams are filling fast! Basketball is played on Wednesdays for High School, and Thurssdays for Junior Sc.hool Go to the Junior School Basketball page on The Hub OR Secondary Basketball page on The Hub to register for your team.
Netball - Junior School
Calrossy will enter teams in the NETSETGO, 10yrs, 11-12yrs, Netball Competitions this year. In the coming weeks more information regarding Netball will be released. We ask that parents please complete the Expression of Interest survey - open now The Hub Click here for the Junior Netball page.
Touch Football - Junior School
Expressions of interest to play Monday afternoon touch are invited via this Hub Survey. Information about Semester 1 Touch Football can be found on the Junior School Sport Touch Football Hub page.
Bouldering - Junior School
Ten4 Bouldering Gym hosts a school bouldering competition. Calrossy Year 5/6 Junior School students are invited to join the ten4 bouldering league. Teams are made up of between 3 to 6 climbers. Students can contact ten4bouldering to be placed in a Calrossy team, or can join with friends others schools. Junior school time slots are Monday or Friday 3:45pm-4:45pm. Netball - High School
Netball teams are beginning to be formed. Students should join the Secondary Netball page on The Hub and complete the Expression of Interest Survey.
Secondary Cricket
Cricket has resumed and Year 8/9 Cricket and 10/11 Cricket is on. Draws are available on the Secondary Cricket page of the Hub.
Secondary Golf
Secondary Golf will resume shortly. Join the Secondary Golf page on The Hub and complete the Expression of Interest Survey for more information.
Tennis Tuition - announcements about Tennis Tuition will be made soon.
2023 Rugby Tour to New Zealand

The tour will proceed once the minimum number of students have paid their holding deposit - available now on Qkr!. Numbers will be capped, and early payment of deposit is highly recommended. For player safety, team selections may be required.
AWD, Para, and Multiclass Athletes
For new families, if your student is an athlete with a disability, or wishes to pursue sporting pathways, please join our Multisports page. This page contains information on opportunities for Athletes with a disability, para sports, and multiclass sports.
Parents are asked to notify the school if your student has a classification under swimming or athletics to ensure we can assist them to move through pathways.
