Parents' Association Update

Connection, Information & Feedback

Welcome everyone to the 2023 school year. We look forward to a fantastic year of building connections for our students, families and staff within our Beaumaris Secondary College community.

For those families that are new to the school, the BSC Parents' Association is aimed at strengthening the relationship between school and parents. The purpose of the association is to foster connection and communication between the school community.

Meetings

We welcome parents to attend our meetings: they are informal and personable. You are always welcome to come along and join us - whether it’s every meeting or just one meeting.

It’s a great opportunity to meet other parents and staff, share feedback, raise queries and obtain critical information about the school.

We are most fortunate and grateful to have Debby Chaves (Principal) attend our meetings, where she updates us on recent events and developments at the school. There is the opportunity for discussion.

Bring a good coin and become a financial member of the association. All members are required to hold a Working with Children Check.

We usually have a guest speaker from within the school to discuss relevant topics. If anyone has ideas on topics they want to hear about, please reach out to us.

Our monthly meetings are held at the college on a Tuesday evening from 7 - 8pm.

At the first meeting for 2023 (date TBC), we will welcome new members and discuss a schedule of events for the year, including the Twilight Festival.

Twilight Festival

We are thrilled to be organising our inaugural Twilight Festival to be held at the school in the afternoon/evening of Friday 17 March. This event is aimed at bringing our school community together for some fun events and food. This event is NOT about fundraising. We hope your families will come along and join us!

We have a working committee working hard on this event. If you are interested in helping out with the convening of this festival, please send us an email bscparentsassociation@gmail.com.

Marketplace

We will have some limited space for market stalls.

Performing Arts

Callout to parents who are musicians, in bands, dj's, performers - we need you!

Any families with musician contacts who would like to support our community, please let us know. We're putting together a live performance program for the twilight festival and we're in need of acts! Contact bscparentsassociation@gmail.com

Year Level Parents Social Evening

We are planning our annual year level drinks which are usually held during Term 1 or 2. This is an opportunity for parents to come along and connect with other parents over drinks and nibbles, socialise, and swap stories of teenage parenting. Each year level has its own evening so that it’s easy to mingle.
