Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Tomorrow is the last day of Term Two and this completes Semester One. In writing this newsletter I cannot help but reflect on the year so far, one which gives me great satisfaction, enormous joy and with gratitude to all who have contributed to our Holy Family Catholic School community.

When I look back at the term calendar, it is easy to see that the students and teachers have been busily engaged in their learning and teaching. In the past 10 weeks our school community has been involved in:

ANZAC Day Services, EAL/D professional learning, Collaborative Coaching, Easter Sunday Prayer service, music program, STEAM lessons, Interschools sports, Mother’s Day mass and morning tea, SRC meetings, Open Days, Toddler Tales, Book Fair, Playgroup, Cross Country Trials, Athletics Carnival, band, strings and chess lessons, Italian lessons, P&F meetings, parent workshops, enrolment interviews, school tours, Debating Interschools Competition, Leader in  Me weekly focus, Our Lady Help of Christians Mass, Netball Gala Day, excursions, incursions, League Tag, Children's masses, Stage 3 Art showcase, band and strings performances and Parent/Teacher Conferences.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the children, parents, parish and staff for all you have contributed this term.

Kindergarten Enrolments for 2024

We encourage parents to organise a time to tour our wonderful school to see "Learning In Action" and our "Point of Difference".

  • All children must be in compulsory schooling by their 6th birthday.
  • Children can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn 5 on or before 31 July that year.
  • Students should start at the beginning of the year.
  • Contact the school office to discuss enrolment procedures.

We encourage any family who is currently connected to Holy Family school who have a child who is coming to school in 2024 to complete and lodge an enrolment form as soon as possible to ensure a place for the new school year. Please contact the school office 9416 7200 or via info@holyfamily.nsw.edu.au

Coles Development Update from Tim Cassar - Site Manager

As predicted, we have had a very busy week in the basement area and managed to get our first slab on ground poured on Saturday.

A forecast for our works onsite this week includes:

  • Complete bulk excavation and truck load out.
  • Complete detailed excavation, trimming and shotcrete to walls.
  • Complete Sewer diversion works with our nightshift crew on Pacific Hwy and proceed with the sewer diversion works within our site.
  • Continue with foundation piling and footing works - Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete.
  • Complete inground services to basement level

Crane movements in and out of the basement area will continue to be busy however I have instructed my crane crew not to position the crane jib over the school playground during the children’s morning tea and lunch.

May you all have a happy and safe holiday and I look forward to seeing you again to start another wonderful term of learning.
