First Eucharist
On Sunday we celebrate a most special time in our school and parish calendar, when some of our Year 4 students will receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time. At COHR through out our students time at school, all classes and all levels learn about Eucharist and the celebration of the Mass. During Year 4 there has been a special focus on these as the students prepare for Sunday.
The Eucharist is the pinacle of our faith. It is the time when we gather as a community and remember the great sacrifice Jesus made for all of us, we celebrate the gifts in our lives and we also take the opportunity to pause from the busyness of our lives and pray.
So I ask you to remember these children and their families in your prayers. May the excitement and joy they are feeling at this time, be forever a part of their lives, whenever they receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
A prayer which brings together all our beliefs and celebrates our faith, is the prayer that Jesus taught us.
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
