Respectful Relationships Focus

Respectful Relationships is an initiative to support schools and early childhood education settings promote and model respect and equality. It also supports us as educators to teach your children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.

Last week, representatives came out from the Department of Education to run a professional learning session with staff. We looked at the WHY behind the initiative. The Royal Commission into Family Violence identified the critical role that schools and early childhood education have in creating a culture of respect to change the story of family violence for future generations. This lead to the development of a Respectful Relationships curriculum that is currently being rolled out in most Victorian schools.

The video below goes into greater detail about the program is and how it came about.
