2018 Casey Creations Youth Arts Competition
Casey Creation Youth Arts Competition promotes participation, sharing of ideas, having a voice, showcases talents and celebrates the fantastic contributions of young people in the community. Casey creations demonstrated inclusiveness through encouraging young people to use a variety of art mediums to express their ideas. The completion has no theme and young artist are able to let their imagination be free.
This year over 200 applications were submitted for judging and 42 of these applications had artworks selected for awards. I am delighted to announce that two of our St. Peter’s College students were selected and gladly represent our College as they were presented their awards at Bunjil Place on the on the 14th November. In the senior Visual Arts, Cassandra Guevarra was awarded a certificate of Merit for her artwork ‘Beyond’. In the Intermediate Visual arts, Adithya Karimbil was the recipient of the Encouragement Award for his artwork ‘The Dog’. Once again, I congratulate these students for their effort and passion for the Visual Arts and I was honoured to see them receive their awards on the night. The selected artworks will be on display at Selandra Rise Community Hub from 4 December 2018 - 28 January 2019.
