F/1 News

The F/1 students have had an amazing term with lots of learning.

Throughout the term, they have learnt about number, division, time, and halving in Maths. They have focused on sentence writing, phonemic awareness skills and digraphs in English. They have also learnt about themselves and their family history in Cross Curriculum. In Religion we have focused on our Church and prayer.

The students have reached many milestones in their learning, such as celebrating 100 days of school, participating in their first school swimming program and enjoying Book Week.

Looking forward to next term, students will continue their unit of prayer and continue to develop a lot of key skills in English and Maths. In Cross Curriculum, we will move into a new unit “Playing in the park”.

“Importance of play”

Malakye and the puzzle

Malakye worked on completing the 100 piece DogMan puzzle in Walker Learning. He started off by putting together the characters.

He asked for help to complete the puzzle and worked with others to match the pieces.

Malakye demonstrated key skills such as:

perseverance, spatial awareness and a systematic approach while completing the puzzle. He showed his ability to visualise the puzzle and continue the image on.

These are all skills that every child can develop while completing puzzles.
