Prayer for our Fathers

We take time to remember and thank all of the male role models in our lives, especially our fathers, whose tireless work has made us into the people that we are today.

And so we pray….

We give our thanks, Creator God, for the fathers in our lives.

This Father's Day we remember the many sacrifices fathers make for their children and families, and the ways--both big and small--

they lift children to achieve dreams thought beyond reach.

May you assist us to look towards St Joseph as a role model of a father

who demonstrated faith, service and humility for the Holy Family.

So too, we remember all those who have helped fill the void

when fathers may not be present;

grandfathers and uncles, brothers and cousins, teachers and coaches.

For those who are fathers, we ask for wisdom and

humility in the face of the task of parenting.

Give them the strength to do well by their children and by You.

In Your Holy name, O God, we pray.

Amen.

NAPLAN Results

The College has received this year's NAPLAN results.  The hard copy letter from NESA to parents of boys in Years 5, 7 and 9 will be distributed to these students on Thursday. Please check with your son and ask for this very important letter on Thursday when your son returns home.

RAHT Kits

We will be having another roll out of RAHT kits to students across the school on Tuesday 6 September.  The College continues to encourage and remind students of good hygiene practices within the College and in the wider community.

Year 12 Pius and Mercy Netball Match

It was a beautiful spring-like day yesterday to hold the annual Year 12 Pius and Mercy Netball match.  As COVID had suspended many of the fun events the Year 12s participate in towards the end of their schooling, it was wonderful the students could once again join in this occasion together.  Congratulations to Pius for the win.  Thanks go to Mercy College for hosting this annual event - great spirit and friendship throughout the day!

Twilight Concert - This Friday -  5.30 pm

Splinters, Splashes, Sounds and Stage

Last Thursday evening the College was alive with the sounds of music and dramatic presentations along with displays of the major works of our creative students from D&T and Visual Arts. Once again, this is the first time in three years we were able to hold this evening in person and it was really a great experience to see the students' works on display.

From the College Advisory Council

Seeking interest from Potential New Members for St Pius X College Advisory Council.

All Expressions of Interest are due by Friday 9 September

The College Advisory Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from people willing to take up an appointment to the College Advisory Council or one of its Committees. There are a number of current Council members who are due to conclude their term at the end of 2022.

The College Advisory Council plays an important role in the monitoring of the College’s Governance, Strategic Direction, Financial Management and Property and Facilities. Members are recommended by the College and ultimately appointed by EREA for a 3-year term.

People interested will have a commitment to Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice tradition.

Our College Advisory Council has an excellent mix of female and male members and as an equal opportunity employer we are committed to gender equity and inclusion. The Council is looking for a broad range of skills that respond to its role including but certainly not limited to: construction, project management, finance, and legal services. Involvement in the Council is a rewarding experience with like-minded adults who seek to continue the enhancement of our wonderful school community.

Anyone interested in nominating is invited to complete the attached Expression of Interest and emailing it to admin@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au  Attention: Christine Jennings.

On receiving your response, further contact will be made with prospective Council members.

Students Leaving the College at the end of the year

Parents are reminded that if you are considering a change of schools at the end of the year, it is the policy of the College that a term's notice should be given in writing to the Principal.  As we head towards the end of Term 3, I ask any parents considering a change to make contact with the College.

You are also welcome to contact the College Registrar to discuss any enrolment matters: cjennings@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au.
