Curriculum

Halo! Kami mengalami minggu yang menyenangkan (We’ve had a great week)! Indonesian day was definitely a highlight for all of us and we really enjoyed the Indonesian presentation on Friday!

On Wednesday we completed a range of activities all about Indonesia! We created cultural masks, discovered the habitat of the komodo dragon and played some maths games using Indonesian numbers.

In Reading, we have been looking at the features of scripts, and even had a look at the Junior Production script. Students enjoyed identifying the different parts of the script and having a go at reading a script with their peers, focusing on their tone of voice and fluency.

In Writing our students have been continuing to work through the Writing Process. Many of our students have been editing their narratives. It’s been great to see our students adding sizzling starts, punctuation and WOW words to improve their writing. Our students have also begun publishing their narratives in really creative ways!

During Maths sessions this week our students have been exploring multiplication strategies. They challenged themselves to show their understanding of an open ended maths problem using multiple strategies at the same time.

During Guided Inquiry we were able to explore some more scripts all about being a good friend. Some of us even had a go at writing our own scripts. We are excited to create puppets that match our scripts in the coming weeks!

Have a great week from the 1/2 Team!
