Mr Irwin's 2022 Welcome

Mr. Irwin's Message

Hello families and officially welcome back to the 2022 school year. A particular welcome to our new families be it in Foundation or who’ve joined us across the school. We also have new staff joining our amazing team and thus I'd like to take the time to welcome Catherine Barnett as our Learning Specialist, Andrew King who will work in year 5/6 and Rose Musselwhite who will be in years 1/2. We will start the year with 238 enrolments and I'm excited to see every single one of them back at school.

We haven't traditionally issued a newsletter until the second week of school to allow families to settle in, however more than any other year we feel there's more information and more important information than ever before. You could consider this edition of the newsletter as your 'Bible' for the upcoming school year!

Please note the school newsletter is the official method by which school communicates to parents. We try to include all relevant dates of events and happenings around the school. Please make a point of reading the digital newsletter fortnightly on a Tuesday. Families who have provided an email address have been subscribed to iNewsletter and will receive an email when the newsletter is available to view. Alternatively, the latest newsletter and past editions can be viewed on our website and click on the 'Newsletter' tab. If you use Facebook and don’t follow our Facebook page I'd encourage you to do so as it provides a great lens into what happens in class on a daily basis.

The majority of the information I'll convey in this back to school edition of the newsletter relates to the process and protocols we are required to have in place to manage the current Covid pandemic. However, I want to reiterate to all families that once children are back in class the focus of their time here will quickly shift to social and academic learning.

We believe quickly returning to a rigorous and orderly routine at school is the best thing we can do for our students upon their return to school. There will no doubt be bumps along the way but we will once again strive as a school to make sure all students get the most from the 2022 school year.

As we welcome everyone back to the school year, I want to reiterate that we are here for you all as a community. If you have any questions, concerns or are finding things tough at the moment do not hesitate to reach out for support from myself or other school staff. We want to support everything in our community through these challenging times in any way we can.

Please take the time to read the information provided regarding back to school procedures, and I look forward to seeing everyone in the coming weeks.
