Queridas familias y cuidadores, Dear families and careers, 

This is a quick snippet of what we have done for the first two weeks of this year. The excitement in the classroom around literacy, numeracy, and inquiry comes not only from the students but from us teachers as well. In literacy we have been working on reciprocal teaching, homophones, predicting, and creating simple sentences in Spanish to ask our peers and to be able to say what we have and what we like. We also had a session at the library!

In mathematics we’ve had a focus around place value, decimals, reading graphs, measuring the length, and converting from one unit to another. We have used the results from the Olympics to compare and order! Get a peek of what is happening during a Builders session. 

We started the first stage of the Inquiry process, I Wonder. We have recognised our passions and interests, compared them with others, and discussed and challenged one another in creating/developing an Inquiry question. 

We also have had our SRC speeches and voting, stay tuned to see the result! Great effort to everyone that prepared the speech and for presenting the speech in front of 40 peers, you have shown great courage and preparation!
