Grades 2-3

The 2-3's have had a good start to the year.

We finally have all our team together. It is so fantastic to welcome Imogen to our team and to welcome back Angelica. The new portable is now ready for use and what an amazing learning space it is. We are all excited about the year ahead.

We have a number of new students in our area. We welcome them and their families.

We look forward to getting to know everyone over the coming year.

The team has already hit the ground running and have been planning exciting learning experiences across all curriculum areas.

Things to Know

Student Representative Council Speeches

Students have been preparing their speeches for SRC representation.  SRC provides opportunities for students to exercise their student voice, represent their peers and play a role in decisions made at the school.

These speeches will be presented by the students to their classmates.

Following the speeches, their classmates will vote on who they would like to represent them. There will be one student selected from each double class.

Sentral: Parents are encouraged to contact homeroom teachers via Sentral if they have any questions or concerns.

If you have any issues with Sentral, please use the link below to log any technical issues:

Seesaw: SeeSaw is a fantastic online application where students learning will be posted at Newlands. Parents are able to access this from home where you can see a snapshot of your child's work.

Individual Devices

We are all looking forward to utlising the devices. We have used them this week to check that devices are ready for use.

We are aware that some families are still awaiting the arrival of their child's device. The last order should arrive within the next week.

Students will need to bring their devices each day except for Tuesdays. A message will be sent out by specialist if they require your child to bring their device

Home Reading

Students have been given their home reading bags. They have a log in the bag which they will use to record their home reading. Books can be changed by students daily (not on specialist day) and we are encouraging students to do this on their arrival at school.

We will be using RAZ Kids for the students to access Spanish reading books.
