College Leaders 2022

As announced late last year, we would like to present our College Leaders for 2022. They are College Captains: Dishanth Vijayaneethan & Farah Muhammad and College Vice Captains: Kate White & Shar K’Pru Htoo.

Dish, Farah, Shark and Kate were all humbled and honoured to accept these important leadership positions of responsibility, and have taken active steps in leading by example when it comes to upholding our college values. This group have shown tremendous resilience and positivity over the past two years lifting not only themselves, but their peers around them. They are a well respected team who have credibility as trusted leaders with students and staff alike.

This senior leadership team are well supported by their peers, as well as our Year 11 leaders and we look forward to the impact they will have on our College as the year progresses. We are so proud of our “awesome foursome” and wish them the best of luck this year. Well done!

VCE

The VCE group has made a great start to the school year. The Year 11s are forming their understanding of how the VCE works and that it does require effort and dedication on their behalf. The first part of this academic year has seen them progress. The Year 12s too have launched themselves into their studies and have been seen buzzing around the study area and working collaboratively as they prepare for the early SACs that feature in their curriculum. Both groups are mindful that this year does move rapidly and that time wasted is not recovered and they have adapted to this well.

VCAL

Year 12 VCAL students kicked off the first day of the year by completing a mural on the water tank out at our Staughton Vale Campus.  Students designed the piece during step up last year and were able to finish the painting.  Keep your eyes peeled for more VCAL improvement projects happening around the college.

Year 10

In Year 10, many students have made a positive return from the holidays. Students have been positively participating in their electives, particularly SEED and Impact. It is great to see students thriving in these diverse pathway programs. Year 10 has also seen students actively engaged in their CORE subjects with programs differentiated to effectively meet the student needs. As we continue to work through Term 1, students will access the Pathway program from Ms Parcell as well as complete their Career Action Plans. In the upcoming weeks, Year 10 students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in leadership opportunities with the selection of Year Level Leaders and House Leaders.

I encourage all students interested to speak with Mr Finlayson, Ms O’Shannessy or Mr Lowery. The Year 10 community would also like congratulate Year 10 Community Leader Mr Saker and his family on the safe arrival of his new child.

Year 10 Student Manager
