PATTERSON RIVER SWIMMING CARNIVAL

It was a beautiful sunny day on Tuesday, February 15 when we held our annual school swimming carnival at Pines Pool.

While Covid infections restricted the way we were able to hold our much anticipated event, the enthusiasm by all those who attended was not dampened.  As well as eager participants, the whole Year 7 cohort turned out in team colours to support them.

A big thank you to all our hard working staff as well as our Year 12 VCAL students who  assisted  all day  marshalling and running activities and events around the pool.  Special mention to Gus and Arlen, the two student photographers capturing all the excitement and atmosphere of the day. Well done team!

We also had our resident DJ Cooper Smith on the decks spinning up some absolute bangers all day long. Cooper kept the vibe up all day, showing off his skills using the equipment he was given from the Dylan Alcott Foundation last year. He proved he has the talent to play in front of big crowds and has a bright future ahead of him in the world of music.

The results from the carnival saw Derrimut as the overall winners on the day, with Aston a very close 2nd. Monash and Freeman finished 3rd and 4th respectively. The 2022 Ultimate Eels were Brianna Harraway and Luke Micolli, who each took home the title as the fastest individual swimmers in the school!

INTERMEDIATE VOLLEYBALL

The Intermediate girls’ volleyball teams played on Wednesday 2nd March at McClelland Secondary College. They had a great day with some excellent games being played. All girls demonstrated fair play, excellent teamwork and support, good overall fitness and skill improvement throughout the day.

The ‘A’ side lost two very close games to McClelland and Frankston High. They won against the eventual winners, Carrum Downs Secondary College, and were the only team to beat them. They also had wins against EMC and Mt. Erin.

The ‘B’ side were the winners of their competition.

The girls representing the school included:

Hannah Griffiths, Hannah Dargan, Dakota Lehner, Lily Corvan- O’Leary, Alannah Upson, Briana Harraway, Alanah Skinner, Abby Khiangte, Kasha Evans, Alesia Iliagouev, Rianna Green, Tharushi Williams, Xanthe Davis, Claudia McHugh, Clavea Suailua-Pati, Olivia Fairhall, Katelyn Green.

Well done to all involved.

BOYS INTERMEDIATE BASEBALL

February 21 Mornington Baseball Club

The team preparation was a little rushed this year with the date brought forward by 2 weeks.

Regardless the squad were pretty well prepared for the day after going deep into the competition in Year 8.

We lost some key players on the day with C-19 and a spider bite and an absence but the 12 that took the diamond on the day showed the all the college values and represented the college well.

Read the details of each exciting game in the attachment below.
