Cheltenham East Primary News and Events

A Message from Ange Berry                                         School Council President

Dear Cheltenham East Community,

On behalf of School Council I would like to thank you all for supporting our school and in particular our teachers, they do an amazing job.  Their professionalism, dedication and commitment to our children and the school should be applauded.

Covid 19 has presented the school with many challenges over the last two years .  2021 was nowhere near what we thought it would be, especially for our Grade 6’s and many others that missed out on excursions and other celebrations quite unexpectedly.  But I would like to truly thank our leadership team and our wonderful teaching team for navigating us through the many obstacles that have been thrown our way.  This has been very challenging for the team in particular the last term, as they have to deal with  many government  departments, ensuring children, families and staff are kept up to date and safe, and trying to navigate how to get our families safely to the end of term.

To our families that have been affected by Covid, we send you much love and support.  We wish you all a speedy recovery and please know that you have the support of the school and the school community should you need any help or support at this time.

As this is my last year at Cheltenham East Primary I would like to thank Wayne, Leisel and Josh for their passion and drive for helping to make our school a great place for our children. Much of their work is behind the scenes, so many do not realise the effort,  commitment and determination they put into always striving to ensure our school exceeds.

To our teaching team, thank you for always being so lovely, approachable, caring, supportive - my list could seriously go on forever about how amazing you all are.  Over my time at CEPS  I have been lucky enough to come into contact with most of you and I love the connection you all have as a team, your passion to succeed and your love for teaching, which is always so evident when I step into each class room.

I would also like to thank Sue, Robyn, Belinda and Tara for the amazing work they do in the office.  They are the back bone to our school and I am very thankful for your knowledge, expertise and support over the years.

I would also like to thank Linda Donaldson, Shelley Diaz and the Parent Committee for all their hard work and commitment over the years, this school would be nothing without your fundraising efforts and social events.  If you're up for a bit of fun then this is the committee to join!  A massive shout out to Jodie Marsh for our Special food days - we have so much fun in the kitchen.

Finally thank you to Hayley Rogers and my fellow school council members for all your support and time, you know I appreciate all your efforts and involvement in our school.

And that my friends brings me to the end.  I am extremely sad to be leaving CEPS (as that just means I have two High School Kids - and that makes me sound old!! ha ha).  My family has had a wonderful journey at CEPS and we have all made life long friendships.

Merry Christmas, stay safe over the holidays and I know 2022 will be a very successful and rewarding year.

In kindness

Ange Berry

School Council President
