Diary Dates - Term 3

• Friday 4 August– Orange Eisteddfod (Function Centre) – 9.30am session. Verse Speaking – K-4 classes involved.
• Friday 25 August – Orange Eisteddfod (Function Centre) – 10am session. Year 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 Choirs involved
• Wednesday 30 August – Orange Eisteddfod (Function Centre) – 10am session. Junior Concert Band 
• Thursday 31 August – Orange Eisteddfod (Orange Conservatorium) – 10am session. Junior String Orchestra & String Quartet
• Friday 8 September – Strings Concert (DPA) 5.30pm – all JS and SS strings ensembles involved 
• Monday 11 – Friday 15 September (Civic Theatre) – Stage 3 production week 

Bell Shakespeare Performance 

Students thoroughly enjoyed the Bell Shakespeare performance in the DPA on 20 June.

Beginner Band – Term 3

Our Beginner Band is off to a flying start with their first rehearsal last week. Mr Grimm enjoyed working with our students establishing rehearsal etiquette, listening, watching the conductor and other essential ensemble skills. We are very excited to listening to the progress of these young musicians.

Information regarding rehearsals for LEADS is now on the HUB. Please check this page regularly for updates. Students should attend all required rehearsals. Know absences should be notified to Mrs Sinclair or Mrs Caro. 

Eisteddfod Performances

All K-6 students will be performing in the Orange Eisteddfod this year. Families are welcome to attend each of the sessions and tickets are available at the door. Dates and times are listed above. Programs can be downloaded from the website https://www.orangeeisteddfod.org/

Young Musicians Workshop – Sydney Symphony Orchestra 

Wednesday 27 September – Friday 29 September 2023

Applications are now open for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s annual Young Musicians Workshop. Be inspired by the incredible musicians of the Sydney Symphony and 2023 Fellowship as they lead students to discover powerful orchestral masterpieces and take a deep dive into the finer elements of performing a major work.

Open to students in Year 4 and above (video audition required). 

Violin – AMEB Grade 6Cello – AMEB Grade 5Viola & Double Bass – AMEB Grade 4

Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon – AMEB Grade 4

French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba – AMEB Grade 4
