Science Fair

Join us for Kinross Wolaroi’s first ever Science Fair on Thursday 10 August in the Derek Pigot Auditorium at 6:00-8:00pm!

Year 9 Science Students have been working on Models for the evening, as part of their assessment, and they are excited to be able to share them with their friends, family, and teachers. The models will be on display from 6pm with students available to explain and answer questions. Year 11 Biology and Chemistry students will show posters and models, and Year 10 Science Research Projects will also be on display and students will be available to discuss them with visitors.

Year 12 Science Extension students will be presenting in the Chapel from 6.30pm: this is the culmination of nine months of work. Each student will be giving a five-minute presentation summarising their research method and findings. For some, it will be a steppingstone towards higher level research at university. For others, it is a passion project for an area of interest.

Topics include:

• Why do girls avoid studying science in stage 6?

• What makes a happy boarder in the younger years?

• Are planarians immortal?

• How does lipophilicity impact pharmaceuticals crossing the blood/brain barrier?

Year 11 Hospitality students will be providing delicious science themed treats for the evening!

Please join our Science students and staff for a fascinating evening!
