Principal's Update

Hi everyone,

NAPLAN

I wanted to share some of our recent NAPLAN results for our year 3 and year 5 students. We usually compare our results against the similar schools score as this is the closest way to compare ‘like schools’. We were stronger in this measure in 10/10 areas which is a huge ‘pat on the back’ for our students and staff. While NAPLAN is only a one off test, this shows that what we do in our classrooms is of the highest quality. Below I have included our results for Reading, Writing and Numeracy, for year 3 and year 5, which shows the percentage of our students that finished with an ‘exceeding’ or ‘strong’ result on the tests.

Congratulations to all involved. We’re very proud!

Learning Walks

Last Monday we had a visit from Dookie Primary School who were conducting learning walks to see the high quality teaching and learning we provide for our students. Below is a letter that they sent after their visit:

Dear Cobram Primary School Staff,

On behalf of Dookie Primary School, we would like to express our gratitude for hosting us for our Curriculum Day visit on Monday last week. Our experience at Cobram Primary School left both Cindy and I feeling inspired and motivated.

Your commitment to creating a nurturing learning environment for your students is evident in every aspect of your school. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness put into your facilities, resources, and programs is truly commendable. One aspect in particular that truly left a mark on us was your whole school vision. The cohesive and forward-thinking approach to education that permeates your school community is both refreshing and motivating. Your dedication to fostering academic growth in your students is evident in every classroom.

Moreover, we were genuinely impressed by the discipline and enthusiasm displayed by your students. It is evident that your school's commitment to fostering well-drilled, responsible, and engaged students is yielding remarkable results. The way your students conducted themselves, interacted with peers and educators left a mark on us. Well done!

Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Cobram Primary School for opening your doors to us. The knowledge and insights we gained during our time with you will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and enhancement of our own educational community at Dookie Primary School. We look forward to future opportunities for collaboration and shared learning.

With sincere appreciation and warm regards,

Luke Kleinig

2024 Enrolments

I have been conducting tours for our new Foundation students for 2024. It is very exciting to meet our new students and start our planning for next year. If you, or any families you know, have a child starting Foundation next year please get in contact for a tour and enrolment pack. Our Pre-Prep Program will be starting in Term 4 and enrolment forms must be returned this term to guarantee a place in the Pre-Prep Program.

Have a great week!
