Expressions of interest are now open for the 2024 Indigenous Apprenticeship Program. Seasonal firefighting: Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning are looking for people who want to help protect Victorian communities from bushfire to become seasonal firefighters as part of Forest Fire Management Victoria crews. No experience is needed, and you will work for a period of up to 22 weeks over the November – April period. This 12-month program prepares you for a role in the Australian Border Force. During your initial 12-month training course, you will be paid $54,439.00 (plus 15.4% superannuation).
