APS – Indigenous Apprenticeship Program

Expressions of interest are now open for the 2024 Indigenous Apprenticeship Program. You can apply for an apprenticeship at different departments and agencies across the Australian Public Service, such as Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Department of Education, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. Cadet placement is in Global Markets and Global Research at UBS, a top-ranking global bank. Business Cadets combine paid work at UBS Melbourne with study at the university of their choice in Melbourne. Seasonal firefighting: Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning are looking for people who want to help protect Victorian communities from bushfire to become seasonal firefighters as part of Forest Fire Management Victoria crews. No experience is needed, and you will work for a period of up to 22 weeks over the November – April period. Australian Border Force: Year 12 graduates have the opportunity to apply for the Border Force Officer Recruit Training (BFORT) program. This 12-month program prepares you for a role in the Australian Border Force. During your initial 12-month training course, you will be paid $54,439.00 (plus 15.4% superannuation). When you successfully complete the training course, you will become an APS3 General Duties Border Force Officer. You will play a vital role in protecting our borders.
