School NAPLAN Results
On Monday the school received its 2023 NAPLAN Results.
As shared last week, students' results are now reported against four levels of achievement instead of the ten “proficiency bands”. These new levels are ‘Exceeding’, ‘Strong’, ‘Developing’ and ‘Needs Additional Support’.
The Department measures individual school achievement in terms of the percentage of students achieving in the ‘Exceeding + Strong’ levels. I was thrilled to see the school’s level of performance, with our school comfortably outperforming averages from Similar Schools (similar Socio-Economic background) and the Network Schools (Local Schools).
I would like to acknowledge our community for these exceptional results.
Thank you to our families for partnering with us, having students ‘ready to learn’, and supporting the school as a learning environment. Thank you to our educators for your rigorous approach to teaching and learning, in this case equipping students with literacy and numeracy skills to suitably prepare them for future successes. And well done to our students, who have demonstrated such terrific resilience over the past few years!
The school will receive individual student reports late next week and will distribute them immediately.
Goals for Jack
Siblings Olivia and Ben are rallying around their brother and former student Jack, who was seriously injured a fortnight ago and has a long road to full recovery ahead of him. He cannot play the sports he loves, so Olivia and Ben wish to kick goals on his behalf. If you’d like to sponsor them and support Jack’s desire to return to sport using modified equipment, please donate via the links and QR codes below.
Student – Parent – Teacher Conferences
This week we have celebrated student learning via our student-led conferences. Thank you to our staff for committing so much time and energy to this meaningful celebration of student learning. Well done to the students on the pride in which they shared their learning and ownership of their next steps in the learning journey.
