Parents' and Friends'
Volunteers
The Parents' and Friends' Association exists thanks to the tireless and generous contributions of those who volunteer their time, support, experience and resources. The P&F have contributed financially to school infrastructure and resources over the decades, as well as supporting students their endeavours. This essential group also aims to create parent connections to strengthen our school community. We thank all of our parents who give their time and acknowledge the kindness shown by so many of you. Recently a survey was emailed out to all families to ascertain the areas that parents may want to contribute, and while for some, this may not be possible (and we understand this, of course), we welcome all parents to join in with any event! https://tha.ac/pafsurvey
Hockey 7’s - BBQ
The P & F will be providing a sausage sizzle, fruit boxes and some home-baked goods for the children and parents at the hockey 7’s event on Friday, 11 August, at Pedrina Park. We are excited to be a part of this event and invite any parents who would like to wield some tongs on the day or provide some muffins/cupcakes/slices to email Karley Cameron at karley@iinet.net.au
WhatsApp pages
The P&F is happy to have the Year level WhatsApp groups now running across the two campuses. This initiative enables new and current parents to connect socially and share year-specific information or ask questions. Parents in year levels 7-11 would have received an email with a link to join the WhatsApp pages. If you have not received this, please email Alana Brown at abrown@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au to join. These pages have already proven useful for information sharing, reunions with lost uniform items, and welcoming new parents to the year levels.
Open Gardens
The Parents' and Friends' have been busily planning for a wonderful event on 29 October at the beautiful Arandoovong and Ardgarten properties, as they open up their gardens in-kind support of our fundraising to create a new outdoor space at myPEC. Open to the whole community, our talented young musicians and hospitality students will be participating on the day, and it promises to be a fabulous way of showcasing and supporting our school.
We will be holding a special committee meeting at the Junior School on Tuesday, 1 August, at 10.30am - we welcome anyone who may be interested in assisting on the day. All ideas and enthusiastic friends of The College are encouraged to join the fun. If you are unable to attend on this day, please email the Open Garden coordinators Karley Cameron and Kate Cain at thacopengardens2023@gmail.com for more information.
Tuck Shop
Tuck Shop volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated - especially over the lunch orders (10am) and the ‘recess rush’ at 11am. If you have a couple of hours spare, please click on the following image and book in a date.
Second-Hand Uniform store
The second-hand uniform store will continue to be open from 3:30pm – 4:30pm on Mondays this term. Alternatively, please get in touch with Zoe Price on 0400017565 to make an appointment to view any second-hand uniform items. The store is located on College Street, at the southeast corner of the Sports Centre (near the hockey field).
Term 3 P&F meeting
Thank you to everyone that attended the P&F meeting this week, in person and online. We apologise that the online link went out a little late and will make sure this is shared in advance before the next meeting. When the minutes are completed, a link will be shared here in the newsletter.
If you have any questions, ideas or would like to join the P&F mailing list, please email us at anytime via PaF@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au.
