We are learning to identify language features of an informative text. 

VOCABULARY

Subject-specific vocabulary:

Vocabulary specific to the particular subject. 

For example, if the text provides information on an animal, it will likely use related words and phrases such as ‘habitat’, ‘species’, ‘offspring’, ‘lifespan’ etc. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to identify a topic that interests them and write all the words they can think of that relate specifically to that topic.
