Living Justice

During the last two weeks of Term 2 our Living Justice leaders met and coordinated the Winter Food Drive for BASP (Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project).

During these difficult times, asylum seekers and refugees have been particularly vulnerable. Many had small part-time jobs which they have now lost and they are not eligible for any government benefits.

Speaking to BASP Coordinator, Sr Brigid Arthur, we were given specific needs and requests for items to be donated to this community. Each Homeroom was given a list of items which varied across the year level.

On Wednesday 24 June the goods were delivered to a very grateful group of BASP helpers whose job was then to distribute them to the families in need.
