Assistant Principals' Update

Learning and Teaching

Kilbreda Connect 2.0

Our time back onsite as a complete College community was short lived, but delightful while it lasted. This term we have once again returned to remote learning for Years 7 to 10.

Our circumstances are slightly different this time around with all VCE, VCAL and VET studies taking place onsite. Our slightly modified remote learning timetable, Kilbreda Connect 2.0, takes our current circumstances and the feedback provided from the College community into consideration. Students in Years 7 to 10 will have reduced allocation to many of their subjects, creating asynchronous time, allowing them the opportunity to have flexibility in their day to take care of their wellbeing and complete set learning tasks at their own pace.

A Kilbreda Connect 2.0 Parent/Student Handbook has been emailed to families. Whilst this new booklet has new information relevant to Kilbreda Connect 2.0 it also contains some of the key information from earlier documents. Much of the information in earlier booklets is still very relevant and we encourage you take another look at these.

Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews

There has been a slight change of date for Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews. Taking into account current restrictions, it has been confirmed that these interviews will now be held remotely.

These will be conducted on the dates and times indicated below:

  • Thursday 6 August
    • 4:00pm to  8:00pm
  • Friday 7 August (Student Free Day)
    • 10:00am to  4:00pm

Further details regarding specific details of the events and booking instructions will be provided in a letter to all families.

Course Selections

Thank you to all families who joined us for our Pathways Expo via  ZOOM last Thursday 16 July. It was wonderful to have so many in attendance and whilst it was not the interactive experience that we usually provide, we hope that you were able to receive the information that you needed to help make informed decisions regarding subject and course selection.

Students and families in Years 8 to 11 have all been emailed the current course handbooks which outline all of the subject offerings. Please take note of the important dates for submission of applications and online subject selections that can be found in each handbook.
