From the Principal

Helping a School in Need

Last week our school was able to support a disadvantaged school in Metropolitan Melbourne, not so far in our wider community, by donating twenty Chromebooks inherited last year.  We didn't need the devices as our laptops have greater capacity for our needs.  At this new point of Stage 4 restrictions the school did not have enough devices for each student to work from home.   We were one of our Catholic schools' network that reached out to them by donating the Chromebooks so that the students can now carry out their work within Distance Learning. Their Principal received them with great gratitude and felt reassured that more students would be able to be engaged in their work.

Stage 4 COVID-19 Updates

All parents who have children on site at school under the latest Victorian Government criteria have been issued with a letter for them to be permitted to travel to bring their child/ren to school.

We  keep up with the latest guidelines as they are issued which has been every day recently.

The COVID-19 SafePlan issued late on Friday will be implemented at school this week.  An example is that staff at school need to have their own personal utensils designated for use when in the staff room.  We are at a point where all staff have their own PPE on them at all times and wear face masks when not in the classroom. This is just the next level of protection that is in place for staff, and in particular, students' protection.

I have been told by our cleaners that our school has been at the highest level of COVID-19 safety from the beginning.  This is very reassuring for all of us at school.

Operoo is now active and has superseded Care Monkey

School Upgrades

The first stage of painting has now been completed and the change in colour of red to grey/blue has brought a sense of calmness and a modern feel to the school.

Quote

There have been many inspirational people who have had they own legacy and fight for survival.  I  would like to share this quote  which typifies who we are today.

"Right now, more than ever we need to lean into  our responsibilities to each other to beat this virus. This will ensure that the freedoms we crave re-emerge and don't come at the expense of the most vulnerable in our society."

School Fees 2020

Thank you to the families who have paid their fees. All school fees for 2020 should have now been paid, apart from families who are on a payment plan. If you are having financial difficulties please contact me to discuss a plan.

Stay safe and enjoy well-being week
