Photos of Our Remote Learners

Thank you to those families who have answered the call-out by sending photos of their children to us to publish in the weekly School newsletter. Please know we are so appreciative of any photos being sent.

Our plan is to publish a selection of your photos that have been sent each week, which means some photos you send may appear in future newsletter publications over time.

Once again, thank you for your support with this, and most importantly in helping us to bridge the gap between school and home. Enjoy the photos.

Ever wondered what goes on in our Reading Program?

Students may be working remotely but our dedicated and committed staff are working to make sure that they cater for each student's individual needs. This is made possible through Shared Reading, the reason why we have students working in small groups with their teachers at Google Meets.

What Is Shared Reading?

Shared reading:

Takes place when a teacher and students read and examine a text together
Requires that the words of the text be visible to both the teacher and students
Is typically done with a text that is 1-2 reading levels higher than what most students in the class are reading
Presents opportunities for teacher modelling and active student participation
Teachers focus on particular Reading Strategies during Shared Reading.

One of the 12 Reading Strategies is called Making Connections.
