Assistant Principal's Report

Farewell Term 2 2020

I read a funny quote/meme today...

"The most useless item I bought in 2019 was my 2020 yearly planner".

As a school and learning community, we certainly have had to modify and be flexible in our home lives and in Teaching and Learning this year.  In reflection though, I wouldn't say the pre-planning was wasted, quite the opposite, even when our plans are interrupted, it is often the thought behind the plans that enables us to be resilient and continue to 'soldier ahead' to meet our goals.

There has certainly been a few 'bumps in the road' so to speak, around our return to onsite learning and with so much information to talk about, it is the manner in which our community has stuck together that strikes me as the most important.  The positive comments using the school's Facebook page, along with face to face interactions, has assured me that Pakenham Springs Primary School is an amazing community to be a member of.

Students onsite have re-engaged with the learning and teachers have ensured that learning in this last week was purposeful and meaningful to our students and continued to run planned programs.  Out on the yard, our focus continues to be tied to our values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.

Teaching and learning has been paced out for Term Three and staff across Years 3-5 are keen to have all students thriving by revisiting learning content and connecting knowledge to new learning.  As a learning community, we want our students to be successful as learners and respectful members of the community.

Enjoy the holiday break, a scheduled break this time!  Stay warm, stay safe and I look forward to seeing all our families in Term 3.

Best Wishes
