Harry Potter Week Celebrations at 

Nossal High School

Last week, in order to promote and sustain the development of reading culture at Nossal, the IRC celebrated Harry Potter Week.  Besides mounting a display, the IRC had also arranged for a range of activities pertaining to the Harry Potter books. The popularity of the books was such that it generated a lot of interest and students participated enthusiastically in the all the activities and quizzes throughout the week.

One of the highlights of the celebrations was the setting up of Harry Potter’s bedroom under the staircase in the IRC which was visited by a large number of students and staff.

The winners of the various Harry Potter quizzes were:

• Biruntha Muhunthan – “Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone”
• Sneha Mothiravally – “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”
• Kohana Kaira – “Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban”
• Savindee Liyanage – winner of quiz on all the books
• Keira Speedy – Hoos Hoo of Hogwarts
• Rahul Mittal – Bertie Botts Jelly Beans competition.
