Annual Berthe Mouchette Competition

Congratulations Joel Whitcher!

This year, Nossal High School was very proud to have 3 of our VCE French students chosen as finalists in the annual Berthe Mouchette Competition run by the Alliance Française de Melbourne.

This competition, celebrating it’s 125th birthday this year, attracted 116 schools state-wide and 15,895 participants of which 1,574 students became finalists.

All VCE students participating in this competition were required to engage in general conversation and the presentation of a theme, a poem or an image.

It is with great pleasure that I announce Joel Whitcher (Year 11) as the First prize winner for his year level state-wide. Joel has been running our French club throughout the year, hosted a student from Lycée Félix le Dantec earlier this year and says that he uses French as a means of relaxation and fun.

Joel will attend an Awards Ceremony at the St. Kilda Town Hall at the end of the year to receive his prize. Once again, félicitations!
