Southern Metro Region Athletics  Thursday 10 October

This year Nossal had 26 students representing the school at Region athletics, which was held at Casey Fields in Week 1 of this term. Special mention to eight of these students all from Ms Pumphrey & Mr Hamilton’s Year 9 Griffin PE classes, who is a sporty group to watch in Athletics over the next few years!

Best finish of the day was Rahul Preman who overtook with 2 metres from the finish line to finish 2nd in the 400m run, while the student in front took off his hat to wave to the crowd!

Overall the students were very successful, winning 14 medals for Nossal. Everyone represented the school in great spirit and enjoyed a fun day cheering each other on.

Shivesh Vaheesan- 1st 14 boys 100m Hurdles

Krisshnaa Kannan- 2nd 15 boys 100m Hurdles

Shannon Chhour- 3rd 17 girls High Jump

Arvindeep Chumber- 2nd 14 boys Javelin

Rahul Preman- 2nd 17 boys 400m run

Sarp Guler- 3rd 18 boys 110m Hurdles

Kingston Wako- 3rd 15 boys Triple Jump

Chamika Kooranpala, Rahul Preman, David Beula & Bence Balazs- 3rd 17 boys  4 x 100m Relay.

State Athletics

Thanks to Ms Veale for going to support Nikola Mandic and Shivesh Vaheesan representing Nossal HS at State Athletics held Friday 18 October at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. Nikola defended his title and finished 1st again in the 1500m walk and won easily. Shivesh earnt his first appearance at state athletics and did a fantastic job to finish 3rd in the state for 100m Hurdles. Congratulations to both of the boys on their fantastic efforts!
