TERM 1 SPORT REPORT

TERM 1 SPORT

Our annual school swimming carnival held on the 27th of February at Pines Forest Aquatic Centre again saw fantastic participation by all students across all year levels. Everybody got involved in various activities such as the literacy pool, bodyboard relay, house points swim and swimming events.  It was an enjoyable day for all students and teachers, especially the Year 12’s in their last swim day. Well done to the students of Kirrang for being the winning house on the day. A huge thank you to all students and teachers who made the day so enjoyable for everyone.

Following on from our own swimming carnival, 30 students represented our school at the Southern Peninsula Division swimming day. Our swimmers excelled on the day with James Mace, Alanna Jackson, Katrina Ward, Keely McKenzie and Jessica Ward winning and therefore qualifying for The Southern Zone meet at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

On Wednesday the 15th of March, the Year Seven Cricket, Volleyball, and Tennis sports teams went to compete in the district Lightning Premiership Interschool Sports. Everyone had such a great time playing their sport against several other school teams whilst learning great teamwork skills and attitudes, and having a better understanding of the game. The next round is the Divisionals, the Boys Volleyball team will be attending. We will wish them luck for their next matches.

Thank you to all students who represented the school this term. Also a huge thanks to the staff who give up their time to coach our teams. Looking forward towards another huge sporting term in term 2.
