Phillip Island Year 4 Camp 2016

On Wednesday 26 October the Year 4 students and their teacher’s headed off for a fun filled three day camp at the Phillip Island Adventure Resort.  We stopped at San Remo to watch the Pelican Feeding and had a stone skimming competition at the beach. After we’d eaten our lunch we got back on the bus and headed over the bridge to Phillip Island.

Once we had explored our awesome cabins and had a brief tour of the camp, we started our first rotation on the activities. Over the three days we all spun around on the Circotron, shot some arrows at Archery, paddled our way across the lake in Canoes and showed bravery on the Giant Swing. That night after dinner we headed to the Penguin Parade. We were very lucky that there were heaps of penguins waddling their way up the beach, some so close that we could touch them if we were allowed.

On Thursday we completed our rotation of activities and after lunch we all headed next door to Amaze ‘N’ Things. We all got to go through the illusion rooms and into the new Magic area, everyone played some mini golf and of course we all got lost in the maze!

That night we had a movie night with everyone lying in their sleeping bags and watching Mr Popper’s Penguins on the big screen. We stopped the movie for a little break to celebrate Estelle’s and Ms Ward’s upcoming birthday. There were balloons, streamers, party poppers, noise makers and, of course, birthday cake!!

Friday morning saw us all heading down to Smith’s Beach for a play in the shallows of the water and an epic sand castle building competition. After our beach morning we headed back to camp where we competed in a Mini Olympics, ate a picnic lunch and got ready to go home.

The camp was so much fun and we have to thank all the staff who came, Mr Kal, Ms Ward, Ms McLeod, Mrs O’Meara, Mrs Toner, Mrs Hague and a big thank you to our parent helper, Matt Daniels.
