Middle Years Final Service

The End of Year Service was a wonderful celebration of student engagement and success.

A team of students reflected on the way Years 7, 8 and 9 have engaged and succeeded in their learning in a variety of domains over the course of the year.

We enjoyed the musical talents of Ashleigh Hollitt, Chloe Le and Jaron Kong as well as the Worship Band.

Students were given a blessing of hope that Christmas and the holidays bring them and their families much joy and celebration of the values they hold dear. I look forward to the return of our middle years students in 2019 for another fantastic year.

Middle Year Music Concert

On Wednesday 28 November at 7:30pm, the Music Department hosted a Middle Years Music Concert in the Mall. The concert featured 55 music students from Years 7 – 9. This included the Middle Years Band, Year 8 Band, Year 9 Band, Clarinet Ensemble, String Ensemble and several soloists.

Several hit songs were played during the night, such as 'All Star' by Greg Camp that was performed by the Middle School Band, and the infamous 'Viva la Vida' by Coldplay, performed by the Year 9 Band. Special soloists such as Year 8 Blayde Harten, played 'May the Force Be With You' from the film Star Wars, and Year 8 Michael Finn sang 'Silent Night' to bring upon the upcoming Christmas spirit.

At their final Middle School Concert, the Year 9 Band was to be assessed for their improvised “solos”. Solos are a spontaneously created tune over a 12 bar blues chord progression that are played by various students in certain parts of selected songs. These songs were 'See you Later Alligator' by Bill Haley and Comets and a special song called 'Chicken Nugget' created by Year 9 student Chloe Le.

The Year 8 Band finished the night with pieces such as The Flintstones Theme and Funky Town. The whole night was a great showcase of the dedication and progress made by the Music students at Endeavour College.
