SAPSASA Boys Basketball State Championships

On Thursday 20th September, our Year 6/7 Boys Basketball team represented our school in the SAPSASA State Championships at Wayville Showgrounds. The boys did extremely well, winning 6 out of 7 games, finishing in third place in the state. This is the best result in the history of our school.

Thank you to Rob Mackenzie for assisting on the day. Well done boys, you made the school very proud.

Rugby League Coaching

Over the past two weeks, students from  Years 3 - 5 have been involved in some Rugby League school coaching sessions, provided by the NRL, in which they have learnt the basic rules and strategies behind the game.

There is also an opportunity for anyone from those classes, who may be interested, in being involved in an after school program which is commencing next Wednesday afternoon on the school oval and will run for 6 weeks from 3.30 – 4.30 pm. For the $60.00 registration fee, they receive some products as shown on the flyer and of course the coaching program. To register go to https://playnrl.com/juniorprogram and click on SA on the map and it will take you to the sign up page. For any more information please contact Dave Cohen on 0411 159 465.

Tennis Hot Shots

On Tuesday 23rd October we had 41 Year 3 and 4 students participate in an ANZ tennis hot shots round robin competition at the Grange Lawn Tennis Club.   The competition came at the back of 4 sessions of tennis coaching at the tennis club for a number of our students. This successful day was ran by Tennis SA in conjunction with the Grange Lawn Tennis coaches and members and gave our children a wonderful opportunity to participate in a number of games against both members from Grange and Whitefriars school.  The children participated with enthusiasm and it was fantastic to see their skills develop over the day along with their confidence in playing.   Thanks must go to the Grange Lawn Tennis Club community for their overwhelming support in hosting such a great day.
