Senior Years

Year 11 Entrepreneurs
The Year 11 Business and Enterprise students showed creativity and vision in the manner in which they operated their small businesses during Enterprise Week. Students developed a range of skills as they conducted market research, business planning, marketing and financial strategies for their enterprises. They then traded over three lunch times in the Endeavour mall. The students were encouraged to take educated risks, take responsibility for their decisions, make mistakes and seize the opportunities to improve. To embrace the concept of the social responsibility of business, the students donated 50% of their profits ($750) to Habitat for Humanity. This is a summative assessment and the students achieved highly, applying their knowledge and overcoming obstacles. They were organised, professional and dedicated. We are extremely grateful to the families who supported the Year 11s and to the entire Endeavour Community who actively encouraged the entrepreneurs.
Below is a list of the entrepreneurs and their stalls:

I learnt a lot from Enterprise Week, I was able to gain knowledge on how businesses function and the processes they go through. I applied the knowledge learned in class in a school environment and was able to run a successful enterprise at lunchtime during enterprise week. Alicia B

Year 10 Outdoor Ed Camp
On Monday 10 April, seventeen students along with Miss Facchin and Mr Otto-Williams set off on a three day camping expedition to Kuitpo Forest. Over the three days, students were challenged to move out of their comfort zones and push to their limits during hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and abseiling activities. This camp provided students the opportunity to prepare and cook their own meals on Trangia cooking stoves, assemble and sleep in a tent and demonstrate leadership amongst the group. Teamwork, perseverance and courage were the strong themes demonstrated throughout the expedition, making it a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all.
It was a great experience sleeping in tents and cooking food for ourselves. The activities challenged us and made us work together as a team. Nick S
Rock climbing was a fun but challenging experience. I really enjoyed the mountain biking which was a little scary but got the adrenalin pumping! Cooking on a Trangia was a challenge because I’m not a good cook. Chynna S
Definitely a great experience! I would strongly recommend this camp to anyone who enjoys a challenge and being put out of their comfort zone. Anastazia S

Year 10 Sports Coaching
During Term 1 the Year 10 students completed a Sports Coaching unit in Health and Physical Education. In Health lessons, we discussed coaching principles, objectives, styles and specifically how to teach beginner’s skills and give them feedback. The main focus for the term was preparing a 45min coaching session for students at both Good Shepherd and Golden Grove Primary Schools.
Prior to the Year 10 students coaching they researched the basic skills of a sport of their choice. They then created an introduction, warm up and various activities that the primary school aged students would find fun, engaging and achievable. They then had an opportunity to have a trial run of the session with their peers in the class. They then gave feedback on the session, made changes to their lesson plan and prepared themselves for their coaching experience with the primary school aged students.
On the day, each Endeavour student donned their ‘coach’s hat’ and implemented the concepts they had learnt throughout the term. The Good Shepherd and Golden Grove students are to be commended on their energy and enthusiasm and how well they involved themselves in each activity.
Overall, the coaching sessions were a huge success and the Year 10 students learnt a lot about being a coach. Endeavour College would like to thank the staff and students at Good Shepherd and Golden Grove Lutheran Primary schools for partnering with us for this coaching experience. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
