Loreto

Hello to all Loreto families and caregivers!

2023 has certainly been a very busy start for our Loreto students.

We have been working hard to articulate our goals for this year in PACC and our senior students have been a source of inspiration and support for our juniors.

The Student Leadership Induction saw Charlotte Baird, Reuben Bekker, Jule Huhn, Madison McDonald and Ava Mitchell sworn in as leaders for 2023.

The Swimming Carnival was a resounding success in the participation element of the day. Whilst we may not have come away with the win, Loreto had the highest number of students in attendance and Ava and Maddie’s House Captaincy resulted in an organised and fun-filled day for all. Speaking of swimming, Jule Huhn, Millie Lush, Lachlan Gurney and Felicity Gough carved up, smashed records and have been selected to compete at NSWCCC!

In other sporting news, Lachlan Gurney has been selected in the Armidale U15s Touch Footy team to represent us at NSWCCC later this term.

Culturally, Loreto has been kicking goals as well! Year 12 student Fergus Hunter won the Boggabri Lions Youth of the Year competition and competed in the Regional finals earlier this term, coming in second place.

I also had the absolute pleasure of leading our Year 7 Loreto students during their Lake Keepit Camp. They were superstars, behaved perfectly and had a go at everything.

As I said, it has been busy, but an amazing start to the year for our Loreto Legends. I am looking forward to the remainder of Term 1 with them all. Two special events will be Loreto Day, on March 24th and our Loreto Project Compassion fundraiser (hint, it involves water balloons)!

Keep an eye on the College’s Facebook page to see what other amazing work these students get up to.

Have a blessed remainder of Term 1!
