A special thanks to the boys from the String Quartet and Chamber choir who performed last week at the Strategic Plan Launch held in the forecourt of the Tower Block. The boys were ably led by Mrs Catherine Wasserman, Ms Alison Braidwood and accompanied by Ms Melanie Stewart in a special evening for the future direction of the College.
On Tuesday 21 February, the Music Department welcomed international jazz artists Joshua Breakstone (guitar) for a lunchtime concert. The free concert was part of a series that will be open to the community throughout the year and be held in the College's Experimental Theatre. A fine bop-based guitarist, Joshua Breakstone discovered jazz when he was 14. He attended Berklee, and in 1977, toured Canada making his recording debut release. During and after teaching guitar at the Rhode Island Conservatory of Music Breakstone worked in New York with Warne Marsh, Emily Remler, Vic Juris, Barry Harris and Kenny Barron. Here is an excerpt from the concert held in the Experimental Theatre.
