District Swimming

Congratulations to the PPS Swimming Team who participated in the Mordialloc District S.S.V. Swim Carnival at Noble Park Aquatic Centre on Wednesday.  The children put in an amazing performance in the pool finishing first in the district.  Their sportsmanship and encouragement of others was outstanding.

School Council Elections

School council elections have closed, we did not receive the required number of nominations to fill all vacant positions.  Please contact me if you are interested in school council, we have two positions to fill.

F-2 Welcome morning tea

Thank you to the PPA group for organising and hosting the Foundation to Grade 2 morning tea last Friday.  It was lovely to see the parents that were able to attend.  The school captains opened the morning providing an insight into PPS.

Uniform – Socks

Parkdale Primary School has a compulsory Uniform Policy. A uniform dress code reinforces in students a pride in their own appearance, instils recognition of themselves as an integral part of the school community, and assists in developing pride in representing their school.  It promotes equality amongst all students and develops a sense of pride in, and identification with our school.  In line with the Uniform Policy, socks should be plain white, navy, or black without any large logos.

Beach program

Grade 5 and 6 children completed their beach program last week. The children participated in a variety of activities that included beach-based activities and learnt about rips and tides. The Grade 3 and 4 students are participating in their swimming program this week.

Harmony Week

Harmony week is a time when we come together as Australians to celebrate our Diversity and to learn from one another.

Our Harmony Day is on Friday 17th March.  The children will be completing Harmony Week activities with Naoko Sensei and Mami Sensei.

Dogs in School Grounds

Parents are reminded that dogs are not allowed in school grounds whilst dropping off or collecting children.

Dogs should not be left tethered and unattended at the gates/fences. This is a safety measure to protect both students (and dogs) from the excitement of these times.

Carpenter/Handy Person

Our next project is the installation of a Japanese garden outside the Japanese room.  As part of the garden we would like to install a Tori gate as an ornamental piece. If there are any parents, grandparents etc who would like a mini project please contact me.
