Writing

CURRICULUM FOCUS

We are learning to write an emotional resolution to a narrative.

VOCABULARY

Emotional resolution: The part of the narrative where the character’s feelings are addressed.

Language choices: The use of specific vocabulary, including descriptive language, to improve writing.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your student, pick a tv show, book or movie. Discuss how the characters might feel at the end of the story.

Write a short paragraph that describes how the characters might feel and how their feelings have been addressed in the text.

See if you can change language choices you have made to improve the character’s emotional resolution.
